Boss Bottled Night is a clean, fresh-woody Eau de Toilette built around a powdery violet heart, and despite the name it is far more of an everyday scent than a going-out one. Lavender and birch open it crisp and slightly green, African violet gives the middle its signature soft powderiness, and Louro Amarelo wood with musk leaves a clean, faintly ozonic finish. It launched in 2010 and has been a steady seller ever since.

This is an office and daily-wear fragrance. It suits meetings, college, daytime outings and Indian weather generally, because it never turns heavy or sweet. The one thing to know before buying: it wears close to the skin and does not project far, so if you want a scent people notice across a room, this is not it.
