Carolina Herrera 212 VIP Black Elixir is a much sweeter, heavier reworking of 212 VIP Black, built around black lavender, black liquorice and black vanilla. Grapefruit and bitter juniper lift the opening, saffron and orange blossom warm the liquorice heart, and oakwood and vetiver keep the vanilla base from turning into pure dessert. It launched in 2025.

This is a night fragrance and a cold-weather one. It suits parties, late dinners and winter weddings where you want something people comment on, and it lasts and projects considerably better than the original 212 VIP Black. In Indian summer it is genuinely too much, so keep it for November through February or strictly air-conditioned evenings.

Is this fragrance right for you?

If you loved the original 212 VIP Black but wanted more strength and more sweetness, the Elixir delivers exactly that. If you preferred the original for its fresh absinthe opening, be warned that this is a different fragrance in character, thicker and sweeter, and some wearers find it close to 1 Million Elixir rather than to its own predecessor.
