Montblanc Emblem is a fresh, spicy Eau de Toilette that opens sharper than most designer aromatics. Clary sage, grapefruit and cardamom hit first, bright and herbal at once. Frozen violet leaf wrapped in cinnamon carries the middle, and it settles onto tonka bean and dry woods. Sonia Constant and Olivier Pescheux created it in 2014.

This is a daytime and office fragrance with enough spice to carry into an evening. The cardamom-and-grapefruit opening reads clean in heat, which makes it workable through Indian summer, while the tonka base gives it more warmth than a straight citrus. It is a classic-leaning scent rather than a modern sweet crowd-pleaser.
