Montblanc Explorer is a fresh woody leather Eau de Parfum, and it is the fragrance most often recommended to people who want the smoky, citrusy character of Creed Aventus without the price. Italian bergamot opens it crisp and tart with a lift of pink pepper and clary sage, Haitian vetiver and a soft leather accord form the heart, and Indonesian patchouli with ambroxan and cacao make the base warm and slightly powdery. Three Givaudan perfumers built it in 2019.

This is the most office-appropriate fragrance on this list. It works for meetings, daily wear and travel, holds up well in Indian weather, and reads clean and professional rather than loud. Most wearers get six to eight hours from it, which is solid for a working day without needing a top-up.
