Naxos is the fragrance that made Xerjoff a household name outside collector circles, and it remains the house's most loved composition. Named for the Sicilian town, it is a tribute to the island — citrus, tobacco and honey rendered with the richness Xerjoff is known for.

It opens bright and aromatic on bergamot, lemon and lavender, then turns sweet and spicy through honey, cinnamon and jasmine, before settling into a base of tobacco leaf, tonka bean, vanilla and amber. The tobacco is the signature: warm and slightly smoky rather than ashy, and it keeps the honey from turning sugary.

This is an evening and cool-weather fragrance built for occasions. Projection is strong and longevity runs well past eight hours, so one or two sprays is the right dose.

It sits close to Tom Ford Tobacco Vanille in style but reads brighter, thanks to the lavender and citrus opening.
