Yves Saint Laurent Black Opium is one of the most loved sweet fragrances of the modern era — bold, addictive and a little seductive. Launched in 2014, it opens with pear and pink pepper over orange blossom, then settles into the black coffee and jasmine accord that made it famous, with vanilla, patchouli and cedar giving it a creamy, warm finish that stays on skin for hours. This is an evening fragrance first — dates, parties, dinners, nights out — though plenty of people wear it to work in winter. It projects strongly and lasts, so two sprays is usually enough.
