In practice that means three things: it lasts substantially longer, it projects further from the same number of sprays, and it needs fewer applications rather than more.

What layers well with it?
Nothing goes on top of an extrait — there's no room. An unscented moisturiser underneath is the only sensible addition, though at 10–12 hours you hardly need it. If you find it too sweet, apply one spray to clothing rather than skin: fabric mutes the fruity opening while keeping the woody dry-down, which is a more effective control than any layering.
