The Oversized Whitney is the biggest and most decorated watch Michael Kors makes for women. A 44mm steel case with the bezel, the chronograph sub-dials and the chevron-shaped bracelet links all set in pavé crystals — the sparkle runs through the whole watch rather than sitting on the bezel alone.

The dial is silver with Roman numerals at six and twelve, Arabic minute markers around the rim, three sub-dials running a 60-second, 30-minute and 24-hour counter, and a date window between four and five.

The chevron links are the detail worth noticing — angled rather than square, so the bracelet catches light in a way a flat link bracelet does not.

Who is it for?

This is the statement piece of the range — 44mm with allover pavé is deliberately oversized and meant to be seen, which makes it an occasion watch rather than a daily one. Be honest about size: on a wrist under about 16.5cm it will overhang, and at 12mm thick it has real presence. Two other points. The crystal is mineral rather than sapphire, so it scratches more easily. And with stones set through the bracelet, keep it clear of surfaces that will knock them.
