Delina is the fragrance that made Parfums de Marly a household name outside niche circles, and it is still the reference modern rose. It opens on rhubarb and lychee — tart and juicy rather than sweet — which is the trick that keeps it from smelling like a traditional rose perfume. The heart is Turkish rose with lily of the valley and peony, spiced with a touch of nutmeg, and the base is cashmere wood, vanilla and musk. It smells expensive, feminine and slightly addictive, which is why it gets recognised and asked about.

This is an evening and occasion fragrance with serious performance. Eau de Parfum concentration with strong projection and long wear — two sprays is plenty. It suits weddings, dinners and celebrations, and works across seasons, though it comes into its own in cooler air.
